Footage of Major Saad Haddad, the leader of the South Lebanon Army (SLA) warning that an independent Christian state would be created in southern Lebanon if units of the regular army of Lebanon joined the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
The warning was addressed to the Secretary General of the UN, Kurt Waldheim. Sheets of its content were distributed to camps manned by UNIFIL troops as well as to newsmen in Metullah, the northernmost township in Israel.
Several Christian and right-wing militias claimed that UNIFIL was "trained and directed" by Syria. They were also worried that "the Good Fence"; the unofficially open border between Israel and Christian enclaves in southern Lebanon, would be closed.
Reuters text of Haddad's comments:
"We are fighting and this area, and the population of this area. And also, they have in their heads to close the Good Fence. We are not going to let them do it. Because, on closing the Good Fence, they will be other means also, they will exterminate militia in this area. If there is a real Lebanese army, why this Lebanese army will not take the power establish its (indistinct)* inside the capital? At least, they have to take the places of the Syrians. After all, they can attempt to reach us. If they succeed to do it, they are welcome. But they want to finish exterminate this area. This area, because this area cause a lot of problems, for the Syrian(s), and will prevent the Syrian(s) from establishing; from realising their dream to annex Lebanon to Syria."

1. UNIFIL was created as a UN peacekeeping mission in March 1978 via United Nations Security Council Resolutions 425. It was established in order secure peace after the withdrawal of Israel. It has been modified twice in 1982 (Full invasion of Lebanon by Israel) and 2000 (withdrawl of Israel).
2. Major Haddad was speaking against the backdrop of the multi-faceted civil war that began in 1975.
3. Israel supported Major Haddad's SLA and other right-wing Christian militias. It made many incursions into south Lebanon during the period to counter attacks from guerrillas associated with the Palestinian cause, most notably the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO).
4. Major Haddad's SLA served a fundamental plank of Israel's foreign policy; namely that of balkanising Lebanon so as to create a Christian state in the southern part which Israel would later annex.
5. Israel's founding father David Ben Gurion had wanted Israel’s northern border to extend to the River Litani. This was made clear at the time of the Versailles Peace Conference in 1919 and should be borne in mind when considering Israel's wish to destroy Hezbollah, the armed militia group responsible for Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000 after an 18-year occupation and in 2006 after the Israel-Lebanon War between the Israeli Defence Force and Hezbollah.
6. According to the diaries of Moshe Sharett, an early Prime Minster of Israel, Moshe Dayan, Israel's army Chief of Staff in the 1950s, envisaged Israel aiding the rise of a Christian Maronite military officer ("be he just a major") who would declare an independent Christian state in south Lebanon, which Israel would later annexe from the River Litani.

As long as they provide money to the Churches, they are all accepted, including homosexuals, rapists, pedophiles, etc. I never write about this out of HATE because HATE never drives my way of life on this damn planet!
