Ten Little Muslims

Ten Little Muslims
by mantiqaltayr

1. In the United States of America if you are a brave Muslim and if you peacefully stand up in front of an audience being addressed by an American- born Israeli who supports Israeli war crimes you can be convicted of a crime. On the other hand, if you are a brave Jew or a brave Arab who is smart enough to be surrounded by a few brave Jews, you can peacefully stand up in front of an audience being addressed by an Israeli war criminal and you will not be charged. That which cannot be tolerated is Muslims acting on their own against Israeli usurpation of Muslim and Christian lands. With no Jewish cover, the Muslims have no standing.

By now most of you have read about the "Irvine 11" (aka "the Irvine 10" because only 10 were sentenced in court") who were convicted of misdemeanor crimes for, as Loon Watch put it, "being mean to the Israeli ambassador" to the United States. What these handsome young men did was stand up - already showing more balls by doing so than the Israeli Vice President for American Affairs (ISVPFAA) Barack Obama has ever shown - and state that the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, was supporting war crimes against Palestinians. This is something that most reasonable people around the world regard as axiomatic. But not in the US of Israel. No way. In fact it is now a crime to point this out if you are a Muslim.

In a moment you will come to a short video of what they did. Each one stood up, stated his case in a few seconds, and then peacefully walked away. This was for too much for the host of the event and for the cowardly "Israeli" ambassador, more on that cretin will follow. The Israeli ambassador left the stage while his host chastised members of the audience who take human rights seriously to the cheers of members of the audience who do not.

Ten of the eleven people who stood up to Michael Oren have now been convicted of crimes for what they did. The sentences they received were light compared to what goes on in US-sponsored dictatorships, but there are still have potentially harsh consequences for the 10 victims of our Zionist judiciary. They were convicted of misdemeanors and sentenced to 56 hours of community service and three years of probation. The judge seems to have been very hesitant to be harsh after the jury found these students guilty of speaking truth to power and noted that if they do the 56 hours within a year they won't have to do the probation. However, they all right now have criminal records for speaking out against a major representative of the most racist government on the planet.

Below is a short youtube video showing you what they did, those evil Muslim bastards. (And here is a link to what appears to be a video of almost the whole event so you can see everything if you have some spare time. Also, the Orange Country DA's office, which went out of its way to prosecute the protestors, has selectively released "evidence" against them on this link where you can find their video version of the full event plus some emails.)

Here's the short video I mentioned.

And here is a link showing exactly the same thing at Brandeis University where apparently Jewish and Arab students raised holy hell at the presence of Avi Dichter, an obvious war criminal who we have previously featured on Mantiq al-Tayr. (Note to Shas Party members, it's less than one minute in length, so your attention span won't be challenged a great deal.)

As far as I know, no charges were brought against the students at Brandeis.

We all know that equality under the law has no meaning anymore, but now you have one more example, one that has serious ramifications for anyone challenging Israeli behavior.

2. Okay, now I'm done being nice. Let's talk about what an absolute traitor Michael Oren is and how he should be immediately deported or put in prison with Jonathan Pollard. I'm fine with either one, but I vastly prefer the latter to the former.

American-born Michael Oren was radicalized at an early age to become an Israeli, serve in the IDF, advocate for Jonathan Pollard and to become a chief Israeli propagandist writing Zionist-bullshit-filled books on such topics at the June 1967 war - a book with a completely disgraceful chapter on how the poor little Israelis made an innocent mistake when they tried to sink the USS Liberty and kill every man on board. (Norman Finklestein and James Bamford blew his Zionist bullshit efforts out of the water, so to speak. You can read their comments on Oren's work here and here. I will be quoting from both below.)

At the age of 15 Oren went to Israel with a Zionist-socialist youth radicalization movement known as Habonim Dror and lived on a kibbutz. No doubt this had a pretty deep impact on him, as he seems to have spent the rest of his life in service to Zionism. In 1978, he worked as an advisor to the Israeli diplomats at the UN and the following year he immigrated to Israel for good. He joined the IDF in 1979 and served in Israeli's illegal invasion (and subsequent 22 year occupation) of southern Lebanon. In the 1991 war against Iraq he served as the Israeli liaison to the US Sixth Fleet. And since then he has been engaged as a propagandist for Israel to include working for an outfit in Israel that was in love with the notorious racist Meir Kahane as I shall document below. Oren's propaganda work included several stints teaching at major US universities including Georgetown's School of Foreign Service. I guess at Georgetown when they say "Foreign Service" they must mean "serving foreigners". Imagine this American turn-coat teaching our future diplomats how to behave.

Oren, like most Israeli propagandists, loves to do two things, one is play fast and loose with the facts and the other is to invoke the Holocaust to defend Israel's murderous rampages and constant war mongering. Here is a excellent example of his Zionist bullshit where he plays fast and lose with facts and yells "Holocaust" the whole time. The damn article is even entitled "Deep Denial: While the Holocaust Still Matters." He did get ripped for this, you can see it here for example. It is precisely his defending of Israeli war crimes as he does in this article that the protesters were protesting.

3. Let's take a moment to talk about the USS Liberty and the Michael Oren's lies and Zionist bullshit. Back in 2001, Oren published an Israeli propaganda piece about the Liberty in The New Republic, which itself is nothing more than a rag-mag for the Israeli Lobby. Prior to that James Bamford had published Body of Secrets with a chapter devoted to the USS Liberty story. Another propagandist for Israel named Stephen Aftergood used Oren's article to bash Bamford. Bamford responded here. Since the second propagandist for Israel was relying almost completely on Oren's essay, Bamford kills two birds with one stone and blows both of these assholes to high heaven. Here are some select quotes from Bamford's response. Enjoy them.

On Oren's objectivity when writing about the Liberty Bamford writes (Note to Shas party members, red highlights are mine):

Oren, however, is a reserve officer and war veteran of the Israeli Defense Forces as well as a former advisor to the government of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin -- who was Army chief of staff at the time the Liberty was attacked. He now works for a small right wing, pro-Benjamin Netanyahu Israeli think tank in Jerusalem, the Shalem Center. It is run by its founder, Yoram Hazony, one of former Prime Minister Netanyahu's closest aides (he also ghost wrote a book by him). During the race for prime minister, the political party of Ehud Barak even accused the center of illegally funneling money to Netanyahu -- a charge denied by the center. The Israeli Education Ministry has called the center "a research institute whose leanings are extreme right-wing and even fascistic."

The principal mission of the center, where Mr. Oren is a senior fellow, is the cause of extreme Jewish nationalism -- Israel for the Jews -- i.e. apartheid. That is hardly surprising given that the center's intellectual guru, Yoram Hazony, is an admitted admirer of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane. He is the racist, fanatic founder of the violent Jewish Defense League in the U.S. and the rabid anti-Arab Kach movement in Israel, which is now outlawed there and listed as a terrorist group in the U.S. In 1984 Kahane was elected to the Israeli Knesset on a platform calling for the expulsion of Arabs from Israel.

Typical of the comments uttered by Hazony's demagogic idol: "I want the Israeli Arabs out of here because I don't want to kill them every week, as they multiply and demonstrate"; "They are germs that are poisoning us. They will not leave us be until they have raped all our women and murdered all our men"; and "I recognize the submachine gun's right to speak and the knife's right to speak."

Yup, Oren was working for an organization with the same thinking as Meir Kahane. So it is no surprise to see him defend Israeli mass-murder against the Palestinians and against American sailors in service to the country of his birth.

Let's get back to Bamford:

"Soon after hearing one of the rabbi's fiery, bigoted speeches, Hazony began quoting him in political debates. Eventually he wrote a fawning obituary about his slain hero in the Jerusalem Post. "We were mesmerized," he said. "We listened in astonishment, and finally in shame, when we began to realize that he was right." He then expressed "gratitude to someone who changed our lives, thrilled and entertained us, helped us grow up into strong, Jewish men and women. Many of us found other ways of doing what he asked." One of those ways was by opening his Shalem Center, where Oren, a close associate of Hazony, works, writes, and studies. So much for Oren's "independence."

So there's a look at his objectivity. Now let's look at what a lying son of a bitch he is. Bamford rips Aftergood/Oren on two very critical points. I'll discuss the first of the two. Please read the rest of Bamford's piece for the other information.

Aftergood/Oren say that Bamford's claim that Israel was covering up its mass-murder of Egytpian POW's as a possible motive for the attack on the Liberty is baseless because Aftergood/Oren claim that no such mass murder took place. (Oren is quite the professional denier of Israeli atrocities.) Bamford quotes Aftergood:

Aftergood mimics the charges made in Oren's article. "In his new bestseller 'Body of Secrets,'" Aftergood writes, "Bamford proposes a motive for the attack: Israel, he says, was in the process of murdering several hundred Egyptian prisoners of war at nearby El Arish and wanted to prevent the Liberty from preserving recorded evidence of the massacre.

"But [Aftergood continues,] there appears to be no verifiable evidence that such a massacre ever took place, and Bamford's description of events at El Arish doesn't hold up. Thus, he attributes to Israeli journalist Gabi Bron a claim that 150 prisoners were executed there. But Bron himself denies that and says 'there were no mass murders.'"

Where Aftergood relied on Oren's selective view of Israeli history, I relied on such news organization as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Jewish Telegraph Agency, and many other respected press organs both in the U.S. and Israel. Below are some examples:

And here are some examples of what Bamford found:

The following is from an article ("ISRAEL REPORTEDLY KILLED POWS IN '67 WAR: HISTORIANS SAY DEATHS OF HUNDREDS OF EGYPTIANS WAS COVERED UP") in The Washington Post on August 17, 1995:

"Israeli soldiers killed hundreds of Egyptian prisoners of war during the 1967 Middle East war - deaths that commanders who are now prominent leaders have known about for years, historians said today. The controversy involves some top politicians, including Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and legislator Rafael Eitan [who also gave us U.S. Navy spy Jonathan Pollard, and then lied about it], a former army chief. The allegations dominated news shows, shocking many Israelis who have long prized the notion that their army maintained high ethical standards throughout decades of warfare with the Arab world and military rule over Palestinians. The Army spokesman, Brig. Gen. Amos Gilad, refused to comment. Rabin, who was chief of staff when some of the 1967 killings allegedly were committed, walked away today when a reporter shouted a related question. His office later issued a statement denouncing the killings and calling them isolated incidents.

"Military historian Aryeh Yitzhaki said today that Israeli troops carried out several mass killings in 1967 in which about 1,000 Egyptian prisoners were slain in the Sinai. Yitzhaki, who worked in the army's history department after the war, said he and other officers collected testimony from dozens of solders who admitted killing POWs. He said a report on the killings submitted to his superiors has been locked in a safe at military headquarters.

"Another Israeli historian, Uri Milstein, said there were many incidents in the 1967 war in which Egyptian soldiers were killed by Israeli troops after they had raised their hands in surrender.

"It was not an official policy, but there was an atmosphere that it was okay to do it," Milstein said. "Some commanders decided to do it; others refused. But everyone knew about it."

The following is from an article ("HISTORIAN ALLEGES POW DEATHS IN 1956, 1967") posted by the Jewish Telegraph Agency on August 17, 1995:

"An Israeli military historian has said he knew of hundreds of Egyptian prisoners of war who were killed during the 1967 Six-Day War by Israel Defense Force troops, including a unit headed by the current Israeli housing minister. Military historian Aryeh Yitzhaki of Bar-Illan University told Israel Radio on Wednesday that the killings involved a crack unit led by now Housing Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer. Yitzhaki said the executions of 300 to 400 Egyptian commandos in El Arish was the worse case he knew, given that many of the Egyptians had surrendered. They were killed by members of the Shaked commando unit under the command of Ben-Eliezer, a lieutenant colonel at the time, he said. Ben-Eliezer said he was unaware of any prisoner killings.

"Referring to the Six-Day War, Yitzhaki said not only were the executions known, but a report he prepared in 1968 on the deaths was not released under instructions from higher authorities. Responding to the reports, Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin said he thought such incidents were exceptions to the norm and that they should be condemned by all."

Bamford quotes a lot of sources, I'll give just one more. It's from the above-mentioned Gabi Bron.

The following is from an article (AFTER A GENERAL TELLS OF KILLING POWS IN 1956, ISRAELIS ARGUE OVER ETHICS OF WAR) that appeared in The New York Times on August 21, 1995:

"At the same time, a reporter for Yediot Ahronot, Gabi Bron, described atrocities that he witnessed in the 1967 war: "The Egyptian prisoners of war were ordered to dig pits and then army police shot them to death. I witnessed the executions with my own eyes in the morning of June 8, in the airport area of El Arish."

Israel has committed war crimes against Egyptians, Americans and countless Palestinians. Oren either denies they happened and when that is impossible he says they weren't war crimes and then invokes the holocaust, a typical Zionist tactic.

Those Muslim students were definitely on to something when they accused Oren of covering up war crimes. They had to be silenced and an example made of them.

As I noted above, Oren's fictional work on the June 1967 war included a disgraceful chapter on Israel's deliberate assault on the USS Liberty killing 34 American sailors and wounding over 170 others - and by the way many of the survivors of this attack suffered horribly for the rest of their lives and no doubt many of those still alive suffer to this day.

Here's Norman Finklestein writing about that chapter in Oren's Zionist bullshit book:

Oren's account of events attendant on the June war frequently descends to vulgar propaganda. Deeming the Israeli combined air and naval assault on the U.S.S. Liberty, in which 34 U.S. Navy men were killed and 171 wounded, an "accident" and an "incident [of] faulty identifications," Oren rehashes official Israeli tales and embellishes on them with his own whoppers. He avers that Israeli reconnaissance pilots flying just overhead on a cloudless morning missed noticing the Liberty's five-by-eight-foot American flag fluttering in the wind because they "were not looking for the Liberty, but rather for Egyptian submarines"; that "the IDF could have easily sunk the Liberty," although with the IDF's extended air attack using missiles, cannon and napalm, followed by a torpedo attack followed by sustained fire on the crippled vessel that left 2/3 of the crew dead or wounded, the miracle is that the Liberty managed, just barely, to stay afloat; and that Israeli ships, after torpedoing the Liberty, "ceased firing the instant the mistake was realized and offered to assist the ship," although surviving members of the crew uniformly testify that the Israeli ships fired from close range after the torpedo explosion and after stopping near the fantail, where the Liberty's name and hull number appeared in large letters (a new oversized American flag had also been unfurled), finally firing on the life rafts in the water, and then left the area for more than an hour before returning to offer assistance (SDW: pp. 264, 271).

"Oren claims that the IDF, unable to handle the throngs of Egyptian prisoners, dispatched them toward the Canal and was at pains not to harm them, and "no evidence was found" that Israel executed Egyptian POWs (SDW: pp. 259, 270-1). He is apparently unaware of the national debate that erupted in Israel a few years ago after the publication of unimpeachable eyewitness testimonies of Israeli soldiers as well as the testimony of an Israeli military historian that the IDF executed scores of Egyptian POWs during the June war. Oren also claims that only a "few" of the Palestinians who fled during the June war sought repatriation after it ended (SDW: 306), whereas a conservative Israeli scholarly source reports that fully 120,000 of these Palestinian refugees (half the total number) applied to return but only 21,000 were allowed to do so. Finally, in his survey of developments since the June war, Oren recalls that in the post-Oslo period "Palestinian terrorists killed dozens of Israeli civilians" (SDW: p. 313), but neglects to mention that Israeli forces killed a far greater number of Palestinians and that the "vast majority" of these killings were "unlawful" (Amnesty International)."

Not satisfied with defending Israel's murdering of Americans, Palestinians, Egyptians and God knows who else, Oren has recently taken a liking to Israeli spy and traitor to America Jonathan Pollard. This would seem to be a natural progression for a guy who has been subjected to Zionist radicalization since his youth and who worked for a think tank whose founder greatly admired the founder of the Jewish Defense League. (No doubt carpet baggers like Mary Habeck and Jarret Brachman won't be writing about this kind of radicalization, but I digress.)

Last year, Oren, lying as usual, said that Pollard was part of a "rogue" operation. This had long been the official Israeli position but no longer is and Netanyahu had to correct Oren who was probably lying when didn't have to just to keep in practice. Oren then had to issue a retraction of his original comment. As part of that retraction the article I've linked to says:

Ambassador Oren issued a statement in response saying that in responding to a journalist’s question, he attempted to emphasize that the Pollard incident occurred over 25 years ago by a unit that no longer exists, for which Israel took full responsibility.

He added that Pollard worked for and on behalf of Israel, and that he hopes for his earliest release.

And of course, that is what this is all about, getting Pollard out of jail before the scheduled release date of November 21, 2015. Oren then actually visited Pollard in prison this summer.

During the visit:

Pollard sent a message through Oren asking Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres to "act through any means they can to obtain my release before it's too late."

Also during the visit, Oren conveyed a message to Pollard from Netanyahu to the effect that the Israeli Prime Minister was working hard to get Pollard released from prison. I have no doubt that Pollard will be released early.

Denying and defending war crimes, falsely justifying Israel's attack on the USS Liberty, and now advocating for Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard's early release are perfectly acceptable things to do in these United States. Standing up for a few seconds at one of Oren's speeches and speaking truth to power is a crime.

That's why Muhammad said:

افضل الجهاد كلمة حق عند سلطان جائر

"The best Jihad is speaking the truth to a tyrant."

And he was right.

2. Okay, that was a long post. Here's your reward. Note to Shas Party members, be patient, the dancer, Brysa Mahaila, appears at 3:27 into the video.

Your unique contributions and wonder dark sense of humour will be very missed. Thank you for all the work you contributed over the years. I only hope that you are closing this blog for positive reasons. In the last week we have lost Doug Christie, Splitting the Sky and Mantiq al-Tayr. All valuable voices for change. I wish you well in your life.
  5. Mantiq, I’m sorry to see you go. I always enjoyed your commentary and sharp wit. Hope you can start another blog soon. We need critical thought and real insight to the current state of affairs.

  6. I understand…I will miss your depth.
  7. Where are you now, loyal readers, who were so happy when Mantiq was laying it on the line? Can it be that only myself and a very few others understand and appreciate this loss? A great and brave one is gone: who will stand in his place?
  8. I understand the why. I understand MT’s frustration and desire to give it up. However, I don’t understand the timing. That’s just me. He’s bailed and I find it irritating. That’s just me.
I’m not giving up. Not yet anyway. Any and all are welcome at The Graphic Visigoth. MT had the link up. I’m not as eloquent as MT. I’m way more graphic. I’m severely handicapped when it comes to the beauty of Arabic.
But when it comes to confronting and mocking Zionistas, I’m not even close to throwing in the towel.
    MT has gone silent. Pity…
  9. M, I will miss your sterling, razor sharp wit that was always able to skewer the problem, no matter which Neocon or Zionist was behind the mess.
